Who should apply?
We are looking for a group of diverse social influencers, leaders, change agents, positive personas, advocates, allies, activists, compassionate critics, bosses, creatives, dreamers, and doers to convene at the Empower Kentucky Conference.
We encourage you to apply if you
Are passionate about creating community change in the areas of sexual violence prevention, positive mental health promotion, and/or substance use/misuse prevention
Thrive in diverse groups and environments
Want to positively impact local, state, and/or national policy
Are open and excited to share space with others who have different perspectives, lived experiences, and identities from your own
Will listen and learn from youth who have different perspectives, lived experiences, and identities from your own
Believe that an approach rooted in social justice and equity is essential to creating community change
Identify as and/or actively support equity for historically marginalized communities (communities of color, immigrants, LGBTQ+ communities, people with disabilities, etc)
Commit to creating and executing a prevention-based action project in your school/community during the 2019/2020 academic year using the skills, knowledge, tools, and strategies you gained at the Empower Kentucky Conference
